The Kings Arms Hotel, Market Square, Bicester
Big Steak
Tetley's £1.88 (12.iii.1999)

It is an enormous white building standing on Market Square, plush,
bedecked with gold-coloured railings, and a recently refurbished ground
floor of a last-century hotel with very expensive food. There is not a
main course under six pounds that you can buy. And there's high chairs and
facilities for children.

The beer (Tetley's cask) was almost undrinkably foul. It tasted, to
varying degrees, of filthy pipes. Sunday lunches are immensely steep
compared to other places. (12.iii.1999)
