The Elephant and Castle, Bloxham

Massive cube of ironstone with tiny defensive windows. On the wall of the
courtyard a pub sign with four interpretations of the pub name, one of
which is a pink elephant wearing a kiss-me-quick hat sitting in a
deckchair next to a sandcastle.

Inside is cosy and all the better for not having been redecorated for
ages. Wobbly tables. Real still cider, and Hook Norton beer. Nearest,
as far as I can tell, pub to Bloxham School, where the Music in Adderbury
concerts that need a piano happen.
