The Duke (of Edinburgh) (Greene King)
St Clements, Oxford

Greene King IPA
Archers Golden

Colin Batchelor writes:
It was repainted in yellow and black (body) and red and blue (pool room)
about two years ago, but it now looks almost exactly as it did before the
redecoration. The ceiling coming to bits at the northern end by the dart
board and the roller screen due to water helps.

The beer is the uninspiring East Anglian Greene King Abbot Ale and IPA,
which are both alright. Surprisingly comprehensive range of alcopops
behind the bar. I blame Oxford Brookes University at the other end of
Headington Hill. There's a table football table as well. (6.iv.1999)

Pontus Lurock adds:
I think it's been recently done up, but can't really tell, never
having been in before. Low loungey furtniture. Music at a reasonable
volume. The pool table is squeezed into a nook which necessitates
comically short cues for certain shots, and the table football is
still there. Not bad, really, and the Archers was a nice surprise.
