Introduction
This collection of pub reviews has been maintained since the end of
September 1997, first on the web service kindly provided by the University
of Oxford, and now on mythic-beasts. My aim is for as
complete as possible coverage of existing and past pubs in Oxfordshire.
There are over 357 reviews, which is more than half of the county's
estimated 1997 pub stock of six hundred (beware, though, since some of the
separate files are for the same pub under different names). The reviews
are nearly all datestamped, which in some embarrassing cases shows pub
reviews that haven't been updated in six years. List
of acknowledgements (far too big to fit on this page).
All correspondence welcome.
You absolutely must visit the websites of Oxford City CAMRA (in fact it meets
the Gloucestershire border at one end and Buckinghamshire at the other),
and North Oxfordshire CAMRA, though this excellent and comprehensive
treatment of local pubs has gone missing for the moment.
