The Queen's Head, Churchgate Street, Bury St Edmunds Churchgate Street is the one that leads to Anselm's tower and the Cathedral. Abbeygate Street is the one leading to the Abbey gate (though the -gate element means street, as in York, -gasse in Germany, -katu in Finland or gatve in Lithuania). This is an unusual pub, with decent real ale (one of the few free houses in Bury) and astonishingly young customers. Most of them are substantially under 25. There's a loud video jukebox as well and all sorts of Will-Alsop-alike alcopops behind the bar. They do food, which I haven't tried. (Fieldwork: 2004-01)
