The Pickerel Inn, Magdalene Street, Cambridge
Nick Bull writes:
A narrow but deep pub, this is a mess of low beams, uneven floors and narrow
passages. The management have done their best to dispense with tradition: the
piped music is loud, the cash registers have touch-screens, and vodka jelly
and Aftershock are proudly displayed behind the bar. Assume that the clientele
are Magdalene and John's students who intend to be carried back to bed.
Paul Gilkerson adds:
Very studenty, and busy even on a Thursday night. Strangely I really can't
remember what I drank there, though I didn't find it remarkable either way,
whatever it was.
